CHICAGO FIRE ACADEMY

Prince scores three goals as U-18's go 1-0-1 in St. Louis

Holloway adds a score, Lyon posts a shutout on Saturday

From staff reports

The U-18 Fire Academy seemed to be on the verge of a st. Louis sweep over the weekend.

But a late score in Sunday's match forced them to settle for a win and a draw in the Two-match series.

Competing against the two St. Louis Scott Gallagher squads, the Fire won 2-0 over the Missouri team on Saturday.

A day later in its match in Fenton, Missouri, Chicago played to a 2-2 tie against the Metro squad.

Chris Prince scored both goals for the Fire (5-2-3, 18) in Sunday's competition with Metro (3-9-1, 10).

In Saturday's match, Connor Holloway put Chicago on top with a goal in the fifth minute.

Prince added a score in the 16th minute to provide plenty of support for keeper Charlie Lyon, who got the shutout.

Other starters for the Fire in Saturday's match included Mitch Albrecht, Patrick Doody, Tyler Engel and Marco Gutierrez.

Scott Lakin, Brian Lunar, Oliver Mayer and Billy McGuinness were also in the starting 11 while Art Garza entered at halftime.

Chicago returns to Missouri this weekend when it takes on the Kansas City Wizards in a Saturday match.
